The Dribbling Kings

By Mike Pierce

A great effort saw Miles Brown, Tafa Dambaza and Harry Diver crowned the Dribbling Kings with a combined 156 laps in the sponsored dribble at Wale Rec

A great turnout saw some fantastic footwork at Wale Rec this weekend as the club players supported the fund raising for a new pavilion. The top three lappers won a football after each clocking up nearly a miles-worth (yes, a mile !) of endeavour in the dribbling extravaganza. Honourable mentions went to the other players on the leaderboard.

Many thanks to everyone who participated and to everyone who made a sponsorship pledge. Every penny counts.

The club will also award a prize to the two players who collect the most sponsorship money. So, if you haven't sponsored anyone yet, now is the time to blow the moths off your wallet and make a little contribution. (or a big one, we're not fussy). If you don't know who to sponsor ask your coach and you'll be pointed in the right direction. We'll announce who has raised the most in a couple of weeks time.

Many thanks to John Gilchrist and the other coaches for organising the event, but most of all thanks to the players who turned up and their sponsors.

Where next?

Next Generation Festivals Cambridgeshire FA are once again offering Under 7 teams FREE entry into the Next Generation Festivals for 2014, supporting clubs to develop new teams.
Sponsored Dribble at Wale Rec Come and joint the sponsored dribble on March 22nd at Wale Rec. It's in aid of the new pavillion, so you know it makes sense !
